The hospital was established in the year 1970s as a a dispensary and upgraded through various levels and became Taluk Head Quarters Hospital in the late 1980s and having a bed strength of  157.  Hospital is having a total area of 4.75 acres plot of land. The average OP per day 1250 and IP is 100. There are 11 specialties functioning in the hospital.
